My Favorite Shoot Locations

Some of my favorite photos have come from unlikely locations. You don’t need a large space for beautiful photos. It’s all about texture, color, and layers.

One of my absolute favorite locations in St. Louis is Tower Grove Park. Originally part of the Henry Shaw estate, it has been a public park since 1868. When I’m there I feel like I’m connected to our city’s history.

You can find open fields, spring blooms, fountains for splashing, woodlands, Victorian architecture, and the textures of city life all in Tower Grove Park.

Another one of my favorite places is right down the street—the Missouri Botanical Gardens. It’s one of the world’s best botanical gardens, and is beautiful every season of the year!

Every St. Louisan is familiar with Forest Park. My husband—a self-described unofficial STL booster and tour guide—would be quick to remind you that Forest Park was the site of the 1904 World’s Fair. Today you can find lots of open shade locations, water features, and sweeping vistas that make great locations for photoshoots. Of course, it’s the home of the St. Louis Zoo, Science Center, Art Museum, and Missouri History Museum.

One of my very favorite places to photograph is in a client’s neighborhood. This is where you live and play, where your memories and friendships are forged. What I love about a city like St. Louis is how each neighborhood has its own character, texture, and history. Take me with your family on a walk down the block to your favorite ice cream shop or to that perfect climbing tree, and let me photograph you in your element!

Book a session today and let me know where you’re the most “you.”
